This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, processed, stored, and shared when you access or use the WillPatra platform (the “Platform”).
For Indian citizens, the Platform is operated by WillPatra Services LLP, an Indian limited liability partnership (“WillPatra”), under license from WillPatra LLC, a limited liability company formed on May 18, 2026, in the State of New Jersey, United States.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with the WillPatra Terms of Service.
Definitions
Personal Data: Any data about an identifiable individual, as defined under the DPDP Act.
Sensitive Personal Data: As defined under the SPDI Rules, where applicable.
Data Principal: The individual to whom the personal data relates.
Data Fiduciary: WillPatra Services LLP.
Data Processor: Any entity processing data on behalf of the Data Fiduciary, including WillPatra LLC and technology service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Sendgrid, Msg91 and others as and when we use other third party services.
Categories of Personal Data Collected
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
2.1 Data You Provide Directly
- Name, email address, mobile number
- Account login credentials
- Personal and family details entered for Will creation
- Asset and liability details
- Uploaded documents (Wills, identity documents, declarations)
- Contact details of executors, beneficiaries, guardians, or other designated individuals
- Payment and billing information (processed through third-party payment gateways) – please do not provide or enter bank account details at any point on the Platform
- Any other Personal Data that may be necessary to provide you with the service requested by you on this Platform
- Any personal notes or information you provide
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
- Device information and browser type
- IP address and log data
- Usage data and interaction logs
2.3 Data Relating to Third Parties
If you provide personal data of third parties, you confirm that you have lawful authority and consent to do so.
Purpose of Processing
Personal data is processed solely for lawful, transparent, and limited purposes, including:
- Creating, editing, storing, and managing Wills and other documents on the Platform;
- Operating, maintaining, securing, and improving the Platform and its features;
- Providing free services and paid services requested by the user;
- Communicating with users regarding their account, documents, notifications, and service-related updates;
- Offering add-on services, enhancements, or related offerings that are relevant to the user's use of the Platform;
- Security, fraud prevention, audit, and compliance purposes; and
- Meeting legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- For reasonably expected secondary purposes, such as payment processing, analytics, reporting, sanctions check, investigation of potential fraudulent claims.
WillPatra processes personal data only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes described above.
No Sale of Personal Data
WillPatra does not sell, rent, trade, lease or otherwise commercially exploit personal data of users.
Personal data is never shared with third parties for independent marketing or advertising purposes. Any processing or sharing of personal data is strictly limited to:
- Providing and improving the Platform;
- Delivering services requested by the user, including add-on services; or
- Complying with applicable law.
Consent and Lawful Basis
Personal data is processed based on:
- Consent provided by the Data Principal
- Performance of a contract (Terms of Service)
- Legal obligations under applicable law
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
The Platform may use automated or AI-assisted tools to support document organization, user guidance, or platform efficiency. Such tools:
- Do not make autonomous legal decisions
- Do not replace professional judgment
- Operate under user control
Data Sharing and Disclosure
Personal data may be shared with:
- WillPatra LLC for platform development and support
- Cloud service providers, hosting providers, and IT vendors and partners
- Payment gateways and communication service providers
- Government or regulatory authorities where required by law
- For a business deal, or negotiate a business deal, involving the sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets. These deals can include any merger, financing, acquisition, or bankruptcy transaction or proceeding.
Data is shared on a need-to-know basis and subject to contractual safeguards.
Cross-Border Data Transfers
Personal data may be stored or processed outside India, including in the United States or other jurisdictions, subject to:
- Adequate safeguards
- Applicable DPDP Act requirements
By using the Platform, you consent to such transfers.

- Fulfill the purposes stated in this Policy
- Comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual requirements
You may request deletion of your data, subject to retention obligations.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including:

- Secure cloud infrastructure
No system is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Data Principal Rights (DPDP Act)
As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

- Request correction or updating
- Request deletion
- Withdraw consent for processing
- Nominate a person to exercise rights in the event of incapacity or death

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children except when the User includes their family information which may include Children under 18 years of age.

We see data protection as an ongoing process, not an endpoint that can be guaranteed. As such, we continue to enhance our privacy controls daily to secure your personal information. We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Policy from time to time, so please review it frequently. It is your sole responsibility to check this website from time to time to view any such changes to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to any changes, when such changes may be made to this Privacy Policy, you must cease access to this website. If we make any material change in how we collect your personal information online, or how we use or share it, we will prominently post notice of the changes on the website covered by this Privacy Policy.
